The Director of AQUA, Dr. Isaac Galobardes, attended the second session of the General Assembly of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), held in Tokyo from 13 to 16 May 2025, as part of the network’s 18th biennial conference. The event was organised by the Japan University Accreditation Association (JUAA). 

This year’s conference focuses on the theme “The Big Bang Theory: The Quality Assurance Paradigm Shift,” reflecting on how quality assurance can adapt to current technological, social, and educational transformations with the aim of fostering a more inclusive, flexible, and sustainable higher education system. 

The main discussion points include: 

• The contribution of quality systems to the global sustainability agenda 

• The flexibilisation of learning pathways 

• The integration of artificial intelligence in education 

• The recognition of new forms of learning and emerging qualifications 

These gatherings are a key opportunity for AQUA to share knowledge and experiences in the field of higher education quality assurance with other agencies around the world.
