Quality of programs

The external evaluation of official programs has been established at different times, in keeping with the Decree of 14/04/2010, which approved the regulations on state university qualifications:

Curriculum approval

Curricula are approved by Government decree subject to accreditation by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education of Andorra Andorra (Agència de Qualitat de l’Ensenyament Superior d’Andorra – AQUA).
Each university prepares its curricula based on the requirements set out in the decree establishing the degree or diploma. The curricula plan and distribute the learning content over the course of each teaching period, time the relevant teaching/learning and assessment activities, and assign a value in European credits to each component of this content, grouped into subjects, courses or thematic blocks.

Curricula will be valid for six academic years, if not otherwise stipulated in the decree establishing the degree or diploma.

Curriculum amendment

Curriculum amendments will be approved by the university, in the manner determined by its statutes or organisational and operational rules. Subsequently, these amendment proposals will be notified to the competent ministry and the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education of Andorra so they can be accredited.

Renewing curriculum accreditation

Approved curricula are valid for six academic years. Assessment by AQUA is necessary to renew the accreditation, following the quality standards and guidelines of the European Higher Education Area. Once assessed, AQUA will recommend maintaining the curriculum, amending or annulling the curriculum as a curriculum leading to a national qualification.
