Structure
The AQUA is made up of a Steering Committee and a Management Committee.
STEERING COMMITTEE
The Steering Committee is AQUA’s collective governing body.
It is composed of:
- Mr. Ferran Costa, Chair of the General Council’s Legislative Committee on Education, Research, Culture and Sport. He acts as chair of the Steering Committee.
- Mrs. Sandra Codina, Deputy Chair of the General Council’s Legislative Committee on Education, Research, Culture and Sport.
- Mrs. Ester Vilarrubla, Minister of Education and Higher Education
- Mr. Josep Areny, Director of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s Department of Higher Education, Research and Study Grants
- Mr. Miquel Nicolau, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Andorra
- Mr. August Climent, Vice-Chancellor of La Salle Open University
- Mr. Arnau Solé, student of Universitat d'Andorra
- Mr. Jordi Garcia, student of Universitat d'Europaea
- Mrs. Pilar Escaler, Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Andorra
- Mr. Martí Casadesús, Director of the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency
- Mrs. Marta Fonolleda, Director of AQUA. Acts as secretary of the Steering Committee
MANAGEMENT
Management’s role is to coordinate the development of the actions proposed by the Steering Committee to achieve the policies and strategic objectives.
Marta Fonolleda Riberaygua is the director of AQUA. She was appointed director by the General Council during its session on 20 October 2016.
Marta Fonolleda Riberaygua received her Doctorate in Environmental Education from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2012) and is a lecturer in the same university’s Faculty of Educational Sciences, in the Didactics of Mathematics and Experimental Sciences Department. Over the past 14 years, she has taken part in teaching, research, educational innovation and knowledge transfer in the fields of scientific education, environmental and sustainability education and consumer education.
TECHNICAL TEAM
Resma Punjabi is AQUA’s quality technician.
EVALUATION COMMITTEE
The Evaluation Committee is responsible for issuing evaluation reports and accreditation of curricula and teaching staff.
The functions of the Evaluation Committee are:
1. Issue and sign the following evaluation reports and accreditation:
- Approval (ex-ante), renewal (ex-post) and substantial modification to curricula
- Accreditation of the work experience of teaching staff
2. Propose improvements to evaluation guidelines, criteria and protocols for consideration by the Steering Committee
3. The tasks assigned to him by the Steering Committee
The composition of the Evaluation Committee is:
- Dr Josep Maria Rosanas Martí, Emeritus Professor of the Department of Accounting and Control at IESE
- Dr. José Angel Domínguez Pérez, Professor of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Salamanca
- Dr. Marta Fonolleda, Chairwoman (director of AQUA)
APPEALS COMMITTEE
The functions of the Appeals Committee are:
- Resolve the appeals filed against the resolutions of the Evaluation Committee or against other resolutions issued by the AQUA
- Issue review reports of appeals filed against the resolutions of the Evaluation Committee or against other resolutions issued by the AQUA
- Other functions entrusted to it by the Steering Committee
The Appeals Committee is made up of the following members:
- Mr. Josep Areny, Director of the Department of School Systems, Higher Education and International Relations
- Mr. Martí Casadesús, director of the Agency for the Quality of the University System of Catalonia (AQU)
- Mr. Arnau Solé, student at the University of Andorra (UdA)
